One of two plates used for a double-plate etching of Ruth Bromberg (1921–2010), print scholar, collector and dealer. Our skin produces oil that will, over time, erode metal surfaces. The edges of this plate are now marked with fingerprints, either Auerbach’s own or those of Marc Balakjian (1938–2017), the artist and master printer with whom he worked closely.
