The Human Touch

Mark making

Drawing is at the heart of Auerbach’s practice.  He begins each day by repeatedly exploring the cityscape around his north London studio. Layers of coloured crayon converge to create a vibrant and dynamic composition. The mark-making is descriptive of the site, yet remains self-sufficient and assertive, leaving a dynamic record of the artist’s working methods.
